2. One of our customers needed to import CAD drawings of circuit boards to use as templates in a PCB vision inspection system. They needed to have the images manipulated prior to importing them. Specifically, the corners of traces needed to be radiused to match more closely those of manufactured PCB traces. Since the image file sizes were on the order of megabytes, they were concerned about meeting the end-user’s speed requirements. Our customer approached us because they lacked the skills in-house to develop a solution for this problem. Omnix successfully developed an image pre-processor tool that produced the required corner radiusing in significantly less time than the required minimum processing time.
