2. Omnix’s software expertise was sought in developing a software framework for a series of industrial electron microscopes.  The framework was to provide a common platform that would reduce the development time and maintenance for multiple systems.  Included in the framework was a model of the hardware components and their interaction, a mechanism for the dynamic association and communication between various components and subsystems, a common structure for reporting error conditions and support for object persistence.  This framework was implemented using the techniques of object discovery, late binding and event driven interaction.
